Portable LIBS Analysis for Geological Fieldwork
The LiSen Optics iSpecLIBS-Min is designed for field geological exploration and rapid mineral screening. Its handheld probe combines coaxial laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) optics with microscopic imaging. A high-resolution targeting camera helps the operator select precise points on drill core and annotate the corresponding images.
A 1064 nm pulsed laser enables one-touch, in-situ analysis of major and trace elements. Built-in geological calibration models support semiquantitative analysis and standardized reporting.

Single-Point Analysis in the Field
The analyzer and power supply are integrated into a rugged wheeled case for standalone field operation. The handheld probe is designed for precise, single-point measurements, with a measurement time of ≤60 seconds per point.
The probe is rated IP65. A 0–40 °C operating range and real-time data storage support work at outcrops, drill sites, and ore-screening locations.

Field Data and Reporting
Automatic GPS tagging records measurement locations, while storage for at least 10,000 records supports field data collection. Results can be exported in Excel or CSV format. Geological calibration models and standardized reports support the interpretation and documentation of semiquantitative measurements.
Application Areas
Applications include hydrogeological and marine geological research, oil and gas exploration, geotechnical research, and mineral exploration.
