Overview

The iSpecField-(W)NIR Portable Field Spectroradiometer family from LiSen Optics is built for accurate, efficient spectral measurement in remote sensing, soil and environmental research, mineral exploration, agriculture, forestry, and other demanding field applications.

Four configurations cover 300-1700 nm, 200-1700 nm, 300-2500 nm, or 200-2500 nm. A fixed holographic grating, fast spectral acquisition, real-time dark-current compensation, and high-resolution detector options support reliable field-ready data collection across the visible, near-infrared, and shortwave-infrared regions.

Integrated GPS, red-laser aiming, automatic optical-shutter control, remote triggering, and synchronized sensor acquisition help teams collect traceable in-situ measurements. Selected HR models also support automated ground or UAV measurement and BRDF workflows.

Typical Applications

Technical Advantages

High-Performance Spectral Engine

  • Broad, fast spectral coverage: A fixed holographic grating supports rapid full-spectrum scanning across the 200-2500 nm family range with stable, accurate measurements.
  • Dual-detector architecture: A 2048-pixel area-array BT-CCD works with a 256- or 512-pixel TEC-cooled InGaAs detector for visible, near-infrared, and shortwave-infrared measurements.
  • Flexible acquisition: A minimum integration time of 100 μs, extended dynamic range, and remote triggering support demanding laboratory and field work.

Intelligent Integrated Design

  • All-in-one workflow: GPS, a red-laser aiming pointer, and automatic optical-shutter control are integrated into a streamlined field system.
  • Solar geometry and advanced modes: Real-time solar azimuth and zenith angles support BRDF measurement and UAV airborne survey workflows on compatible HR models.
  • Synchronized field context: GPS, target imagery, angle, distance, temperature, and humidity can be recorded with spectral data for more complete measurement records.

Field-Ready Versatility

  • Application-specific accessories: White-reference panels, leaf-transmission clips, BRDF measurement kits, and other accessories support varied measurement tasks.
  • Mobile operation: A pistol-grip fiber-optic probe and Android handheld terminal enable fast, intuitive, one-handed field operation.
  • Portable endurance: A removable battery provides more than 5 hours of runtime, while the complete system weighs 5 kg.

Spectral Acquisition and Analysis

iSpecField Spectral Acquisition Software provides real-time visualization of full-spectrum, selected-wavelength, and integrated reflectance data. It supports reflectance, transmittance, irradiance, and radiance measurements, CIE 1976 L*a*b* color measurement, more than 40 vegetation indices, and ENVI-compatible data export.

Integrated SAM, SFF, and SID spectral-matching algorithms work with AI models and the USGS spectral library to identify more than 380 minerals, return the top 10 ranked matches, and support user-expanded spectral libraries for specialized geological research.
